Course Overview

This half-day (4-hour) Fire Safety Awareness course provides an essential introduction to workplace fire safety. It is designed to help organisations meet their statutory duties while creating a safer working environment. Successful candidates achieve a Level 1 Award, and the course is also suitable as a CPD refresher for staff who already have fire safety knowledge.

Who This Course Is For

This course is suitable for all employees and is particularly effective as part of an induction programme for new staff. It also provides a foundation for learners who wish to further develop their fire safety knowledge.

What You'll Learn

Learners will develop an understanding of basic fire safety principles, the causes of workplace fires, and how to reduce risk. The course highlights the importance of prevention, safe behaviours, and employer and employee responsibilities under health and safety legislation.

A range of subjects is covered, including:

•  The behaviour of fire

•  Legislation (brief) and responsibilities

•  What to do if a fire breaks out

How the Course Is Delivered

This is a 4-hour, classroom-based, non-regulated course delivered by an experienced trainer. It is interactive and suitable for learners aged 14 and above.

Assessment & Certification

There is no expiry date for this qualification. Successful learners receive a Level 1 Qualification or an attendance certificate. Ongoing refresher training and CPD are strongly recommended to remain up to date with legislation and best practice.
